The three talents change to form the three origins, the eight trigrams are divided into eight escape gates; the star talismans each follow the ten stems to rotate, the value officials often run from Tian Yi.
The six instruments and six stems share the same name, the three wonders are Yi, Bing, Ding; if the three wonders combine to open rest and life, then it is the auspicious gate for beneficial travel.
All matters follow it without disadvantage, being able to know the mysterious and obtain its spirit; the value talisman is in the front three six harmonies, the front two great yin must be remembered.
The value talisman in the back is the nine heavens, the latter two palaces are the nine earths; the earth can conceal and the heavens can raise troops, the six harmonies and great yin can hide and avoid.
Quickly from the deity, slowly from the gate, three and five repeat the heavenly way; although the three wonders are obtained, it is not as good as obtaining the three wonders to use.
Obtaining the use still comes but is not refined, five not encountering time loses brightness; using matters must worry about time conquering the day, reverse hidden chants are still not auspicious.
Capturing and escaping must follow the timing, occupying the traveler’s information cannot be lost; among the fights, the three wonders roam the six instruments, Tian Yi meets the master of yin and private.
To capture must use the time below to conquer, the traveler’s information encounters the three wonders; the three wonders seen above roam the six instruments, the six instruments further see the five yang times.
Also seeking auspicious positions from the eight gates, all matters open three and are suitable; five yang in front and five yin behind, the master and guest must know there are prosperity and decline.
After the five yin, the five stems you must remember, the six instruments added further have no benefit; the six instruments suddenly add the three palaces, it is to strike punishment must be remembered first.

Bing is rebellious, Geng is the pattern, if the pattern does not connect, rebellion is chaotic; Geng plus the day stem is reverse stem, the day stem plus Geng is flying stem pattern.

Bing combined with Wu opens for heavenly escape, earth escape Yi combines to enter the opening palace; rest bears Ding Yi great yin person, heavenly nets four times plus Gui.
Peng plus Ying above is the reverse chant, during reverse chant Peng plus Peng; encountering auspicious constellations is not auspicious, encountering ominous constellations is even more ominous.
Heaven assists the conflict, capturing the heart is auspicious, Tian Peng, Tian Rui, Ying Zhu are ominous; yin constellations, Tian Xin, Ying Zhu, Rui, yang stars assist the conflict capturing Ren.

Heaven, Earth, Man, and Divine Disk#

If the Qimen Dun Jia disk is split, it consists of the heavenly disk, earth disk, human disk, and divine disk, which we commonly refer to as heavenly timing, geographical advantage, human harmony, and divine assistance.

"Heaven" refers to the nine stars, namely: Tian Peng, Tian Rui, Tian Chong, Tian Fu, Tian Qin, Tian Xin, Tian Zhu, Tian Ren, Tian Ying. The nine stars in Qimen represent heavenly timing, that is, the influence of celestial movements on the earth and humanity. The laws of the nine stars' movements are that one hour changes one palace position, moving according to the hour's heavenly stem; where the hour's heavenly stem is, the stationed star will operate in that palace.
The heavenly disk refers to the influence of celestial movements on the earth and humanity. The nine planets mentioned here are not the actual constellations observed by modern astronomy, but rather the nine types of celestial energy discovered by ancient people through experience and intuition, corresponding to the nine directions and eight trigrams on earth.

"Earth" refers to the nine palaces, namely: Luo Shu Nine Palaces. The six stems and generals and the three wonders (excluding the nine heavenly stems of Dun Jia) are arranged according to different seasons, days, and times on the nine palaces and eight trigrams formation, which is the earth disk arrangement law. The earth disk changes every five days (five days one formation, five days one origin, five days one arrangement), with a total of nine arrangements for yang escape, nine arrangements for yin escape, and eighteen types of formations. In the five days one arrangement, the formations and patterns on the earth disk are unchanging, meaning the earth disk is stationary.

"Man" refers to the eight gates, namely: Rest Gate, Life Gate, Injury Gate, Du Gate, Scene Gate, Death Gate, Shock Gate, Open Gate. The eight gates in Qimen represent human affairs. The human disk, also known as the gate disk, is set according to the different characteristics of the spatial orientation's influence on human physiology and human activities such as production, life, and military actions, totaling eight disks, corresponding to the eight trigrams and eight directions.
The operation law of the eight gates is according to the time palace, that is, following the yang escape in order and the yin escape in reverse, operating according to the time's earthly branches and the sequence of the nine palaces, also changing one palace position per hour. The value official: that is, the stationed gate official among the eight gates, the palace position is the same as the value talisman.

"Divine" refers to the eight deities, namely: value talisman, Teng She, Tai Yin, Liu He, Bai Hu (hiding Gou Chen below), Xuan Wu (hiding Zhu Que below), Nine Earths, Nine Heavens. The eight deities are the eight types of mysterious powers discovered by ancient people that correspond to the nine palaces and eight trigrams.
The operation law of the eight deities is that the yang escape follows the order, the yin escape follows the reverse order, with the heavenly disk's nine stars running in accordance with the heavenly disk's eight deities, and the earth disk's six stems running in accordance with the earth disk's eight deities. In the application of Qimen Dun Jia, some use the heavenly disk's eight deities, some use the earth disk's eight deities, and some use both; one disk may only use the heavenly disk's eight deities. The divine disk is also known as the top disk, discovered in the mutual influence of heaven, earth, and man, revealing eight types of mysterious powers that affect human life, fortune, and the success or failure of actions, named as eight types of divine spirits.

Earth disk nine palaces: is a geographical concept, looking at whether the seeker has geographical advantage. It represents the class of geographical advantage, belonging to yin and is static.
Earth disk wonders: is a geographical concept, looking at whether the seeker has geographical advantage. The corresponding palace is dynamic, judging movements such as land construction.
Human disk nine gates: is a human concept, looking at whether the seeker has human harmony. It is the class most related and closest to Jia.
Human disk Jia I: this position seems vacant, but in fact, it is the position of Jia, the position of the fate master, the core position.
Heaven disk nine stars: is a heavenly timing concept, looking at whether the seeker has heavenly timing. It represents the class of heavenly timing, judging major matters and distant matters.
Heaven disk wonders: is a heavenly timing concept, looking at whether the seeker has heavenly timing. It represents the class of human harmony, judging minor matters and near matters.

Ten Heavenly Stems#

1. Jia is the commander, often hidden behind the scenes, hence called Dun Jia.

2. Three Wonders: Yi, Bing, Ding. The three wonders are the three most capable assistants beside the leader. Yi is the civil official, called the sun wonder; Bing is the military official, called the moon wonder; Ding is responsible for logistics and supply, called the star wonder. Yi, Bing, Ding can also be understood as three special troops, often relying on them for unexpected victories. Some also explain Yi, Bing, Ding as the three wonders from the concept of yin and yang and the five elements, that is, Jia is the commander, representing yang wood, most afraid of Geng metal's killing (yang metal overcomes yang wood is the seven killings, the most ominous); while Yi is yin wood, akin to Jia wood's younger sister, Yi and Geng are in harmony, Jia marries Yi sister to Geng metal as a wife, thus Jia wood eliminates the threat, and Yi can naturally be called a special troop executing the "beauty scheme"; Bing is yang fire, wood generates fire, akin to Jia wood's son, able to overcome Geng metal, protecting Jia wood's father, thus he is naturally also a wonder; Ding is yin fire, akin to Jia wood's daughter, also able to overcome Geng metal, protecting Jia wood's father, thus also a wonder, for this reason, she also has the beautiful title of "Jade Maiden."

3. Six Instruments: Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui. The six instruments conceal the six stems' heads, specifically: Jia Zi hidden under Wu, Jia Xu hidden under Ji, Jia Shen hidden under Geng, Jia Wu hidden under Xin, Jia Chen hidden under Ren, Jia Yin hidden under Gui. This can usually be represented as: Jia Zi Wu, Jia Xu Ji, Jia Shen Geng, Jia Wu Xin, Jia Chen Ren, Jia Yin Gui.
